FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded): Electronic Dance Music is produced soley for the use "within a nightclub setting"(Jahsonic).

This dance music is "largely created for use by disc jockeys and is produced with the intention of it being heard in the context of a continuous DJ set" whereby the DJ compiles the tracks and layers them in what is called a mix(Jahsonic).

The genre includes a "broad set of percussive music genres that largely inherit from the electronic music of electropop groups" and the "1970's Disco" era(Jahsonic).

Since the mid 1980's the genre has been used in many nightclub scenes and hase created new cultures such as "discothèques as well as the rave scene"

Electronic Dance Music can easily be broken up into an "ever-evolving plethora of named genres, styles and sub-styles"(Jahsonic).

Prior to the 1980's there was no notable record labels "that exclusively promoted electronic dance music" (Jahsonic).

The article gives a glance at the start up of Electronic music.The effects that the genren has made on society such as the advent of the rave scene are noted. That fact that the the music had an expansive reach around the world. Since the emphasis was on dancing in nightclubs there was a desire for more energetic music andthus the use of more electronic sounds and DJs was emplored.

Jahsonic is a psuedonym for Belgian author Jan Willem Geerinck, who holds a Master's degree as a translator of Dutch, English and Spanish and is currently a teacher of Dutch in Antwerp, Belgium.
The purpose of this site is to inform people of the Arts and popular culture.

 I chose this topic to enlighten the newer generations on the effects that Electronic Music and the advent of electronic devices as a stand in for traditional instruments

I have a direct link to the Professional Musician World. And I have taken a Music Tech. class along with Music Theory.

What are you hoping to learn about the subject?

To have an enriched understanding of how the Genre and its tools to create it have affected society.

What are you most interested in regarding the topic?

I am most interested in the effects that the tools have on a wider scope.

What potential risks or challenges do you foresee for your project?

There are no foreseeable problems for the future of my project.
